Recently, I spent a few days on the white sandy beaches of St. Pete Beach in Florida. Upon arriving, I remembered how wonderful it was to have the sun hitting my face and not having to bundle up when I went outside. Then I went back to my frozen tundra hometown after a few days and reality hit that summer is a long ways away.
Here are some thoughts I had as soon as I got off the airplane and walked through a chilled tunnel to the terminal.
1. When's summer?
Not soon enough that is for sure.
2. It is cold.
I'm not used to it.
3. I'm going to miss wearing sandals, shorts, and T-shirts.
No such thing in below freezing temperatures.
4. Good bye tan.
Time to buy a self tanner?
5. Goodbye, sun.
Winter = clouds and no sun for days at a time
6. Why does everything look dead?
Winter killed the nature.
7. Wish there were palm trees here.
They scream warm weather.
8. How am I going to last so many more months in the cold?
Seriously, though.
9. It's really cold.
Walking out of the airport...
10. When can I go back?
Probably not for a long while.
