Signing up for classes has to be one the most stressful parts about college. There are so many problems that come with registering that really bring out the worst in people. But as you get older, it does get better. Here are some thoughts that you have probably come across when signing up for classes.
Freshman Year:
As a freshman, you have lowest priority—so even though you want your schedule to be perfect with no Friday classes and all of your classes in a neat row, you quickly find out the struggles that comes with you being one of the last groups of students that are allowed to register.
Sophomore Year:
Finally, you are not a freshman anymore! No need to worry about not getting the classes you want, at least that's what you think. Just as your time to register comes, someone with more credits than you comes in and steals the last spot in the class you have to take with your major. Oh well, guess you will have to wait till junior year to take that class!
Junior Year:
This is the year that the only people you are competing with in order to get a spot in your class are those who are in the same major as you. Especially those small classes for your major that only have a few spots in each class. It is a battle to see who will get those few spots. But you feel that you will be victorious since you are now an upperclassman and have high priority.
Senior Year:
You have no worries anymore. You are probably scheduled to register on the first day. You have none of the worries that you have had in years before. Because you know that soon enough, you won't have to worry about what class to register for next semester. Because now is the time where, instead, you are preparing for graduation!
