Thoughts I Had While Watching the Super Bowl

Because no 10 people should be able to eat this much food in 5 hours...

Thoughts I Had While Watching the Super Bowl

Super Bowl season ended this past Sunday, but not without me watching it with my friends. Here are a few thoughts I had while experiencing this nation-wide tradition:

What do I need to get for this party I am invited to? Chips? Drinks? Okay, I am gonna be crafty and make football brownies...that is cute, right?

Arrives at party as someone not from Georgia to see everyone in black and red. Immediately feels out of place.

Sits down on the couch and looks at the food selection. Why is there so much buffalo chicken dip? 10 people cannot reasonably consume this much. But then again, how reasonable are hungry college students?

The game is starting! Everyone, I repeat the game is starting! People sit down with plates heaped with food. NATIONAL ANTHEM TIME....oh wait....Luke Bryan?? Really??

"Justin, where is Lady Gaga? I want Lady Gaga to sing everything!" Justin replies, "Babe they hired her to sing the halftime show, she's probably trying on her meat dress."

I decide to sit quietly through the first half because let's be honest, I am only here for the chicken dip and Lady Gaga.

My "sit quietly" idea fails once the first commercial break comes on. I find the strange ones comment worthy.

The game comes back on and once again there's a 7 man pile up? This is too predictable. Is this sport only tackles?

I hear a string of profanity come from a friends mouth. I catch the name Brady somewhere, why doesn't he like him? Aren't the Brady Bunch supposed to be good people?

BROWNIE TIME!!! I go to grab one and they are all gone? There were 30 and it's not even the end of the FIRST QUARTER? ....Justin?

I decide on another slice of pizza, but I am getting the feeling I am going to be extremely confused and hungry by the end of this game (I am still hung up on this Brady thing, why does everyone hate him?)

Justin swears he didn't eat all the brownies but promises me not to be sad, Lady Gaga will be out soon!

The second quarter passes away with more pizza on my part and more TDs for Brady (I am starting to see why people hate him).

HALF TIME. HALF TIME. LADY GAGA TIME. I AM DYING. (I might have cried and made Justin hold me).

Oh, that was short, "Justin, why can't this whole game be Lady Gaga singing?" He replies, "That's called a concert Georgia..."

THERE'S ANOTHER HALF???? Why am I here?

I may or may not have camped out on the couch and slept...I woke up to the boos when the other team scored and screams when our team did. But mostly, I slept.

Another Super Bowl well done on. Lady Gaga was the best. Brownies were the second best part. Brady was the worst.

HAPPY SUPER BOWL SEASON

(I am gonna have to get Justin to throw a party like this for the finale of Grey's, this is kinda fun).

April Ludgate
NBC Universal

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

Here are some "Parks and Rec" moments that relate to life struggles that just about everyone faces.

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.
