Whether it's a long drive for a family vacation, business, or because you're on the run from the cops, most all of us have found ourselves stuck in a car for a long period of time before. And for those of you who have done both solo journeys and trips with others, you know that it's about 3000 percent more exhausting to travel with a car full of other human beings than it is to travel with just yourself. This past week, I drove a whopping 11 1/2 hours with my two best friends to Nashville, TN in the middle of the night for a little friend-getaway. But that doesn't matter, what does matter is that I decided a lot of the thoughts I was having could be better summed up and complimented by "RuPaul's Drag Race" gifs. So here we are, a list of thoughts I had while driving as told by "RuPaul's Drag Race":

Hour 1:

This drive will be easy.

Hour 2:

We have so many snacks and drinks, it is a literal paradise.

Hour 2.5:

I have to pee right now and the next rest stop is 25 miles away.

Hour 3:

If I hear one more Taylor Swift song I'm going to crash this car. That's it, I'm putting on my music, because I am driving, and no one can stop me.

Hour 4:

I can't believe they took the AUX cord away from me.

Hour 5:

Both my friends have fallen asleep and have left me to drive I-81 all alone.

Hour 6:

I am sick of eating granola bars, chips, and Swedish Fish. I want real, actual, food.

Hour 6.5:

I guess McDonald's is fine.

Hour 7:

Only 400 more miles until we're there!

Hour 8:

This was a terrible idea. I'm so tired. I'm going to die.

Hour 9:

*sings along to the entire "Grease" soundtrack as a coping mechanism*

Hour 10:

Everyone is asleep again.

Hour 11:

We're so close. We're so close to our destination. We're SO CLOSE.

After Arriving:

That was brutal and I can't believe I have to do it again in four days to get back home.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
