Well! One semester down... seven to go... Yep. Two semesters a year, four years, that's eight semesters in a college career. Unless of course you want to be a doctor or something like that. In that case, it's twelve semesters! Regardless, time goes by quickly (I mean really, where have the last 18 years of my life gone?!). It really doesn't seem like it, not while you're in it at least. Same thing goes for growing; it seems like it'll take a long time, but it's over before you know it. However, growing can be painful. I mean hey, no pain, no gain, right? (GAINS)
It's crazy how far we've come since starting here at Corban University. Although, in the grand scheme of things, it IS only one semester. But, I suppose God doesn't particularly care. Yeah, you heard me right, God doesn't care about semesters, years, decades, centuries or even millennia. I suppose it's hard for us to understand since we are finite beings who care so much about using our time wisely. But not God. No, God doesn't exist within our timeline, so He can do as much as He wants whenever He wants. Remember Jesus? He completed the work He was sent for within just three years! That's one less than the average student will spend in college! Wouldn't that be nice?
In any case, since a semester to God is nothing, it's quite easy for Him to grow us in big ways. Ways we can hardly comprehend and within the span of a few minutes (or the span of one semester). I have seen much development in my life in a short amount of time and let me tell you, I am excited for what God has in store for me. Yes, the struggle is real! But God is even more real than the struggle. As this semester closes, let's take a moment (hopefully a long one!) to simply enjoy the life God has given us through His Son. If He hadn't come to be born, we might see this time of Christmas very differently. Think of that... no Christmas... no break!! (Oi...)
God must have known we would've made the birth of His Son a holiday. Christmas break was God giving us a chance to step back and embrace the good parts of life. After all, growing is painful. We can't do it all the time.
Merry Christmas everyone! God Bless!
