It is time to face the music: if you worked out consistently during winter break, you have your life together more than the rest of us. However, if you are like me and the majority of sensible people on this good earth, you definitely decided to take a break to make more room for the extra servings of mac n' cheese at holiday dinner.

Nevertheless, the break is over and now you're looking at yourself in the mirror like:

It is at this point you know there is only one thing left to do: go back to the gym. You grab your water bottle, throw on your tennis shoes and make your way back to the place you've managed to avoid for so long. Once you make your way inside and start off slow on cardio your mind begins to wander...

First day back at the gym thoughts can make or break your workout, but remember you are not alone. Here are 4 common thoughts we all have on our first day "back on our grind."

1. "Let's do it"

You start your workout strong and are feeling on top of the world. You know exactly what you're doing and you bet you look like a pro next to all these gym newbies. You nod to regulars you recognize seeing the three times you went to the gym last semester and you continue pumping that metal. Nothing can stop you now.

2. "I got this, I got this... I don't got this"

There gets to a point during your workout where you can think of nothing else but two things: 1) how much you hate the gym and 2) how the only thing you should be lifting are slices of pizza to your mouth. At this moment, your only motivation to finish your workout is the shameful McDonald's drive thru trip you've convinced yourself that you have earned.

3. "Look at my gainz #gainz #grind #summerready"

It doesn't matter how long you worked out nor how much you lifted, all you know is that you're feeling ripped AF now that you've finished your workout for the day and you are more than ready to hit the weights again tomorrow.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
