For every NFL prospect, every young man with hopes of playing proffesional football the NFL draft is a day full of hope, hard work, and dreams becoming fulfilled. For every NFL fan, every person with the hopes that their team can finally win it all the NFL draft is a day full of hope, anxiety, and head scratching moments. For every fan cheering loud and proud over their teams selection there is another fifty fans right behind him booing. Perhaps the only thing louder than the boo's of disapproval from a draft pick are the boo's rained down on commissioner Roger Goodell. As the thoughts running through the head of a player who just got drafted have to be almost unimaginable the thoughts and feelings of the fans watching the draft are just a tad bit more predictable. Diving into the head of a NFL fan on draft day and you might find some thoughts awfully similar to these:
"We are just one good pick away from a super bowl, just one more player is all we need" -Every fan ever
It is amazing how every team in the league is only one player away from a championship. Just imagine if they only got that player.
"Traded away all our picks for a kid from a school in the middle of nowhere while we have Sam Bradford as a so called started. I need a new team." - Eagles Fans
Heartbreak comes in all shapes and sizes. There are some relationships no matter how many times you get hurt you just keep going back. That is what being a Eagles fan is like. Keep searching for your next Mcnabb.
"Tony Romo who? The Cowboys can just run the ball 50 times a game now behind there line and backs. Don't even give Romo a chance to blow it."
When he is on the field it is as if he looks for ways to sabotage the Cowboys. When he is off the field it looks almost as if they need him. Lets hope that Ezekeil can help change that.
"If for nothing else the Giants drafting Eli Apple is nothing short of an amazing headline. Welcome to the Big 'Apple' is something we can see for years to come."
As long as he is in New York it will be pun after pun and that is all we can really ever ask for.
"The Laremy Tunsil story keeps getting better and better. ESPN just replayed the video of him smoking out of a gas mask for the 10th time in a row."
Never has there been a story such as this on draft night. The only way this story could have gotten better is if he fell to the twentieth pick of the fourth round.
"Tunsil's Instagram got hacked too? What a mess for him and what great entertainment for me."
At least he did not just come out and straight up admit to everything. Spoke to soon.
"Another Oregon player for Chip Kelly, who would have thought."
Talk about really having your ducks in a row.
"Corey Coleman on behalf of the NFL we are sorry that your career is over before it began. #ClevelandBrowns."
Are those tears of joy or sadness? A question worth asking.
"Why does Cleveland even bother anymore with the whole sports thing, I mean even there hometown kid Lebron left them."
Not even Cleveland likes Cleveland. True fact, just check under a snapple cap.
"I could totally pull off Ezekial Elliot's outfit if I really wanted."
You got abs we get it. Now don't let any of Tony Romo's bad luck rub off on you.
"What does Mel Kipper Jr. do for the other 362 days of the year when the draft is not on?"
Do they just hide him in the basement of ESPN and call on him when he is needed?
"If I hear one more Jon Gruden metaphor or pointless story about how this one prospect was born with a football in his hand or was born blind but football showed him the light I think I am going to lose it."
Making every player sound like a Hall Of Famer, even the ball boy.
"If Gruden is such a great football mind how come every time a quarterback draws out a play for him he looks as if he is learning something completely new for the first time."
So what your saying is spider wide x banana is a football play?
"Paxton Lynch, wow Mark Sanchez can not get a break. There goes the 'sanchize'."
Over before it began, at least we will always have his "highlights" to look at.
"Wait we drafted who? Were screwed, I guess there is always next year."
Your team never drafts the right player. Even when they do draft the so called right player they are still wrong.
"How much longer is the draft? Another two days you say? Yeah I will just watch the highlights on ESPN tomorrow."
This seemed like a much better idea in theory trying to watch this.
"This really was not as fun as it seemed."
It never is.
Yeah being a fan is one of the hardest jobs out there. Dealing with hope followed by heartbreak can be a real tough business. As much as you hate it your staying along for the ride, and just feel fortunate you could be a Browns fan.
