School's out for summer! And every summer, without fail, these thoughts cross the minds of every college kid on their trek home.
1. I hope I didn't forget anything
I am absolutely not crossing state lines this summer to get the things I have forgotten. Or that's what I tell myself.
2. I need to adjust my sleep schedule
For my own sanity and for my parents', I need to start sleeping at normal sleeping hours again.
3. I have to unpack all this stuff when I get home
And then I have to pack it all up again in two months. Maybe I can just live out of boxes for the summer?
4. I wonder how productive I am actually going to be this summer
Yeah, I said I was going to do LSAT prep and get a job. But a new season of New Girl just came out.
5. Time to start summer cleaning
Summer cleaning is exactly like spring cleaning but for college kids. I know all of the stuff I have at home and all of the stuff I acquired at school this year is not going to all fit into my closet, but I will still feel physical pain with every item I have to let go.
6. I have to share a bathroom with my sibling again
For some reason the anonymous communal bathroom suited me better.
7. Home-cooked meals
Enough said.
8. Time to prepare for the daily inner-conflict of sleep vs. family
I know I can hardly keep my eyes open, but my priority is to spend every possible moment with my family.
9. Only two more of these until graduation
With every milestone I am that much closer to graduating and entering the real world. Then promptly after this thought, stress follows.
