We all go through obstacles in our lives that seem unbearable, but the thing is that we can change our actions and the way we feel about situations that don't go as planned. Here are a few simple solutions as to where our hearts are led and how we can handle those situations.

1. Frustration

Throughout the day, mainly while we are at work, school, around friends, or just, in general, there will be times where we come across something that turns us off. But the best thing to do in that situation is to take a deep breath and hope for positive things to come your way and they will.

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

2. Insecurities

When we go through these "I can't do this" phases, it is often lead to some sort of insecurity that we face and sometimes they are hard to control. But at the end God sees you differently then everyone else around you does and will help you through both the highs and lows in life and all you have to do is trust him and more Importantly, not to let the insecurities you're facing, define you

Romans 12:2 " Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That you might be proved of what it is that is good, and acceptance, perfect will of God."

3. Anxiety

Anxiety is a more common one these days, but the best thing to do while going through anxiety is breathe. It may not be easy now but don't worry, God has a better plan.

Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God."

4. Rejection

This topic can be very hard to overcome, but when we feel rejected towards a certain person or thing we need to not take their words personally, but instead approach their hurtful messages with grace.

2 Corinthians 12:9 " But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

5. Fear

Wether we're afraid of the dark or our own personal belief of something we have misinterpreted, fear is there. However, it doesn't have to stay there for long.

Joshua 1:9 "Do not be afraid for the LORD God is with you wherever you go."

So here's the thing, when we experience these feelings, know that in every situation, God is there and he will get you through it all, even if the outcome doesn't look promising.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
