Any skin tone can wear any color.

For Those Who Have Ever Been Told A Color Doesn't Suit Their Skin Tone
SIFA'S CORNER

My entire life I've seen people make their style choices based on the color of their skin. I've also seen people not purchase something because of how it makes their skin color stand out too much or not stand out at all, I've heard people shame and judge others for wearing a certain color that "doesn't go with their skin" and it all has to stop.

There is no such thing as being "too dark" or being "too light" and the reason for that is that the amount of shades in the range of skin tone are innumerable. I don't get how we have created this concept.

Recently I heard someone say "I look like a ghost in this shirt" and the answer to that is no; you look like yourself and that is all you should aim for. "This color is too neon for my skin" is something that I also heard and bothered me because it isn't, no color has ever been assigned to a certain skin tone so I don't see why you should deprive yourself from wearing something bright. Your skin is the color it is. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter what color you wear, your skin tone will not change at all because that's not a power that any clothing item yet invented has.

Dying your hair is another huge thing nowadays. The idea of darker skin tones not being able to go blonde is ridiculous and so is the idea that people with lighter skin tones look better with blonde or lighter hair because yet again, you could dye your hair any color and your skin tone will not change. What a certain color can do is create a greater contrast or less to no contrast at all and there's nothing wrong with either of those things; contrast is beautiful but so is uniformity. If everything was always balanced about ourselves just imagine what a boring place the world would be.

I don't understand why we keep trying to assign specific things to specific people in society and the same goes for colors. In the end they're just colors and no skin tone can change a color either.

We should all learn to appreciate the color of our skin for how it is as well as appreciate the skin tone of others simply because our skin tone is something we are born with that we should learn to accept and not feel like we need to change or "improve." Most importantly, we should be able to wear whatever we want without letting our skin tone decide whether we are able to do it or not. My skin tone fits into the category of medium deep and I can and will wear whatever color I want to wear because no one can tell me which one will suit me or won't and I encourage you to do so too.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
