Those "End of the Semester" Feels

The feelings of when the semester comes to a close

Thanksgiving break is over and you know what that means? THE END IS NEAR.

"It's the most wonderful STRESSFUL time of the yeeaaarrr!" ♫

Coming back after any sort of break is tough, and it's even harder when you come back during the worst part of the semester: the end. I know, I know: "But Maddy, the semester is over, how is that the worst part?"

Our brains are fried, our bank accounts are empty, we've been living off of Ramen Noodles, and don't get me started on those stress pimples. College is always stressful, but it's even more so when we reach the point in the semester where we all have front row seats on the Struggle Bus™.

The end of the semester is coming (Which is definitely exciting) but we still have a couple weeks left on this crazy roller coaster we call "college" and the light at the end of the tunnel still requires the part where we have to get through the tunnel.

We're all going to experience a storm full of different emotions, and let me remind you all of what to expect as these last few weeks come at us swinging.

1. The final days of trying to save your grades

You're starting to regret skipping all of those reading assignments now, am I right?

2. Searching for motivation to finish assignments

It's that point in the semester where I use all of my unfinished assignments to make a white surrender flag.

3. Not getting any sleep

Okay but let's be real, do college students EVER get any sleep?

4. Walking into a final completely unprepared

5. Emotional breakdown #1

You're a mess, your GPA is a mess. Everything is a mess.

6. Considering dropping out of school

I mean... strippers do make good money... right?

7. Emotional breakdown #2

You're still a mess, but during this breakdown you'll call mom or dad to cry (I'm talking hardcore ugly crying) and they will assure you that being a stripper is not your only career option.

8. Thinking about leaving your friends over break

Actually sobbing thinking about how all of my friends are going to go home this break and are not taking me with them.

9. Realizing that #8 means that you're going home too

YAS. You get to see your dogs, eat food that doesn't come in a package, AND have your mom do your laundry for you!

10. Thinking back to the kick-ass semester you just had

You made it! You cried a lot along the way, but you also made some killer new friends and some even better memories.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. It is no secret that many American traditions have changed over time. As we grow older we change in so many ways that it only makes sense that we also change the way we celebrate special occasions. Of course when it comes to the holidays there are some family traditions that many of us still excitedly look forward to, whether it is eating your favorite dish or seeing favorite cousin. However, we all know that the holidays have overall changed a little from what they used to be.
