The weather cools down, leaves turn from greens to yellows and browns, and the fashion changes from skirts to jeans. As fall is upon us now, we tend to see more people indulging in the fashion faux pas of double denim. Fall is a time to layer, accessorize, and be an ultimate cutie in layers. Double denim is a look you see often on soccer moms, any man who identifies as a dad, and college students who think that they are being revolutionary by wearing this popular 1980s look.

However, those Double D looks only work 30 percent of the time. This is largely in part because when wearing double denim, it is all about varying shades, lengths, accessorizing, and remembering not to go full "Canadian Tuxedo" (denim on denim on denim with a full hint of denim). Now this is not to dismiss individuals from wearing double denim, but rather to highlight how you can wear the look and be cute each time!

To begin, let us start with double denim "No-Nos." The "Canadian Tuxedo" is not a look you want to wear, because you will look overdone in one material.

Canadian Tuxedos:

Above, two Orioles baseball players adorn themselves in the famous "Canadian Tuxedo" for their trip to Toronto. Notice how each member wears shades of denim that are monochrome with their looks. One must remember fashion is about how your outfit transitions, and when you wear the same shade of denim it appears harsh on the eyes, making your outfit look blocky. It's the same if you wear lengths of denim that do not match: You can end up looking shorter and like a Lego character.

Those Double D looks can be done correctly, but it is all about the right accessorizes and following the basic fashion statements: Remember lengths and shade!

Double Ds Done Right:

This young man wears a denim jack cropped the right length for his pants, and takes the look from being monochrome by having a slight difference in hues of denim colors.

SHE IS SLAYING THE GAME! This miss here accessorizes her denim, taking it from drab to fab by simply adding some sex appeal and sophistication to the look.

These gentlemen show that those Double Ds can be classic and hip. By cuffing their denim, they create just the right length to add character to their denim and follow through by accessorizing with accents of brown throughout their looks.

Look how Yoncé effortlessly blends her denim; lengths are correct, of varying shades, and styled correctly!

You do not have to be a fashion faux pas! You can wear the Double D if you remember: Shades, Length, and Accessories!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
