This Is Why Berners Won't Vote For Hillary

Spolier! It's not because our candidate lost.

This Is Why Berners Won't Vote For Hillary
Ken Lambert

After recent and somewhat tragic events, it seems that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic Nominee. Some people are thrilled, some people are ambivalent, but some Bernie supporters like myself, are very, very angry. It has struck up movements on Twitter and Facebook such as #BernieorBust or #NeverHillary and made it pretty obvious that most Bernie Supporters will never vote for Hillary. A lot of people are mad at these die hard Bernie fans for doing this, claiming that any vote not for Hillary is a "vote for Trump". They bombard us with anger and hatred towards our decision and I just wanted to clear the air and explain why exactly we are doing this and I'm sure it's not for the reasons you think.

We are not sore losers. We are not refusing to vote for Hillary because our candidate lost. We are refusing to vote for Hillary because she and the Democratic National Convention STOLE this election from Bernie through election fraud, voter suppression and a media blackout. Don't believe me? Find evidence here. If Hillary won this election fair and square I'd be first in line to vote for her. I like her platform. What I don't like is rigging elections, cheating and lying.

We will not be sheep. We will not allow the DNC to be so corrupt and so backwards that it just gets to take our votes away and we just sit back and allow it to happen. We don't want a Trump Presidency either, but we just cannot stomach the fact of voting for someone who stole this election from someone who would have been a wonderful president and would have beat Trump by over 20%.

We do have compassion for other lives. A lot of people are yelling at us and asking how we can not care about Latinos, women, Muslims, and the LGTBQ community who's lives will be ruined over a Trump presidency. This is a silly assumption. Of COURSE we care about people's lives! That's why we voted for Bernie! But by writing Bernie in or voting for the Green Party, we are keeping our revolution going and telling the DNC that this is unacceptable and needs to stop. This has been going on for years and enough is ENOUGH! We need to stand together and destroy this two party system. We can't sit ideally by in ANOTHER election and vote for the "lesser of the two evils" AGAIN. If we do this nothing will EVER change. It has nothing to do with our emotions it has to do with that this is disgusting and UNACCEPTABLE.

If after all this, you still don't understand our reasoning, that's fine. You can vote for whoever you want, but so can we. Please do not bully us or try to scare us into who YOU want us to vote for. That is un-American. The whole point of voting is for you to vote for who you think will do the best job and a lot of people think it is neither of the nominees. So let us vote for who we want and we will let you vote for who you want but don't sit there and say it is OUR fault for people's rights being taken away. All we are doing is voting for the best person for the job.

But lastly, please don't blame us. We did not cause this. If Trump wins it is not the fault of the people who wrote in Bernie or who voted for the Green Party. It is the fault of the DNC and Hillary for rigging this election. Be angry at them. In fact, you should be extremely angry. They are the ones who from the very beginning fought for a candidate that couldn't beat Trump. One who hardly anyone trusts, one who lies and cheats. We Berners fought hard for a good, kind-hearted, guy who would have made major positive changes to this country but the DNC wouldn't have it. They didn't care what the people wanted. They took away your rights, your children's rights and your voice to vote for who you want to vote for. Bernie rightfully won this election. Everyone should be fighting for this injustice instead of blaming Berners for voting against the two party system. We tried to vote for a good guy and they told us to be quiet. But we are sick and tired of being quiet. We will not back down and will not allow the DNC to control who we vote for and take away our rights. It is time for a change and that time is NOW.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
