this shouldn't be a regular occurrence

this shouldn't be a regular occurrence

A North Carolina town faced hardship the other week when tragedy struck their school. A 14-year-old boy opened fire on an Elementary School playground injuring students, a teacher, and killing his own father. Or in December of 2012 when the same horrific news was reported in Newtown, Connecticut but with a lot more tragedies.

This news of school shootings is becoming too common nowadays when it never should be. We hear school shooting or any other mass shooting and think this is a regular occurrence. Things like this just happen around us regularly that we turn a blind eye to it. We don't talk about these things enough because we think this is a normal thing to happen. We shouldn't wake up or get out of work to another headline about a person shooting at innocent people.

It shouldn't be happening. This shouldn't be a normal occurrence in this world. We shouldn't have to worry about someone coming in and hurting children that are too young to understand what is going on. Schools shouldn't have to have live shooter drills. This is not how school should be. Students should come to school feeling safe and happy, worrying about their ABC's.

America needs to wake up and realize this shouldn't be normal. It needs to stop before the problem is ignored altogether. We need to focus on the positivity and end all the headlines that bring us to tears.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
