We all know how amazing "Game of Thrones" is. It contains some of the greatest storytelling in our lifetime, and this past season has only been an asset to the growth of the story. This season had some revelations that even book readers didn't know, and now excitement for the coming seasons is at an all time high. (Spoiler warning, if you haven't watched through the end of season six.)
Winter has officially come, and it's ready to tear our hearts out. We discovered many fan theories, debunked many fan theories, and have learned more than we ever expected, just in the season finale.
Many deaths took place this season: Doran Martell, Ramsay Bolton, Margaery Tyrell, Loras Tyrell, the High Sparrow, Tommen "Baratheon" Lannister, and everyone else in the Sept of Baelor, just to name a few.
We learned that Bran can go back in time and affect characters in the past and present, as well as learn important information. Information such as the fact that Jon Snow is actually the bastard son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, not Eddard Stark and some random woman. The brilliant R+L=J fan theory is officially confirmed, and Jon Snow is technically by rights King of Westeros, even coming before his aunt, Daenarys.
We got the ever rumored "bastard-bowl" between Ramsay Snow and Jon Snow. We got the "mad queen" Cercei blowing up parts of King's Landing with wildfire. We got the truth about how Hodor became "Hodor." We got confirmation that the Sandor "The Hound" Clegane is still alive, even though he was left for dead. These theories and so much more were revealed this season.
For the first time, book readers were unaware of most of the goings-on of the season. The show has officially gone past the books in most story lines, and the book that we have been waiting for for years is still in the works by George R. R. Martin. The show runners took that chance to give us many big reveals we've only had hints at before, and it was worth it.
This season was the best season yet. It showed us so much, and only gave us more anticipation for the coming seasons. There are only two seasons left, and so many battles to come. We only have to learn to wait a year, maybe less -- if the next book comes out before the next season. Hopefully.
