To My Best Friend, I Love How Much You Love Me

I know you know who you are.

First off,

I’d like to say thank you. I swear God dropped you in my life when I needed a friend most!! I remember it like it was yesterday. Sophomore year, B lunch. So here are just a few things that I want you to know that I appreciate about you.

I love that you immediately think of me when you see cereal or watch That 70’s Show. I love that we share the same music taste and that you send me songs that I need to “drop everything and listen to RIGHT NOW!”.

Thank you for introducing me to How I Met You Mother, it only impacted my life THIS much. You are the Lily to my Robin for life.

There’s no one in the world who loves Chinese food, coffee, and pie as much as we do. Yes in that exact order. OR coffee, pie, and empanadas, and yes, in that exact order.

There’s no one I would have wanted to work three jobs with throughout my lifetime this far, I don't doubt that there won’t be more.

See the biggest deal breaker was the avocado toast, when you told me you loved avocado toast too, that was when I knew you were gonna be my best friend.

There’s no one I’d rather go on countless adventures with, concerts with, or new coffee shops with. And even though my driving gives you whiplash, it truly wouldn't be the full experience if I didn't drive us there.

I’m glad that our zodiac signs are compatible too, it would be awkward if they didn’t. Thank you for send me my daily Libra horoscope, I wouldn’t know what the next move in my love life would be if you hadn't sent them to me.

Somehow, our moods are always interconnected or something. I know, crazy. It’s truly a blessing though when you have someone who understands you exactly when you need to be understood!

What I look forward to most on my birthday is the hand written elaborate card. Tiny words on pages because you have so much to say. I’ve kept them all.

I love that one thing we can bond over is always getting in trouble for talking too much.

I can always count on you to carry a conversation. Literally carry it. I don’t have to speak really I can just sip my coffee, listen, and nod. Every once in a while forcing my way through with some verbal input. I guess you're just a mind reader so you already know what I’m going to say anyways. It’s always a relaxer after a long day.

Speaking of being a mind reader, we have such a great gift just having mind conversations in certain situations.

You really make me feel like a comedian, I throw jokes around and you really seem to be on the floor wheezing and I’m glad.

I'm so happy we have the same weird laugh, it throws people off but thats okay.

I love that we casually listen to jazz. Sets the mood for all situations.

Even though I can go on and on, lastly

I love how you can make me laugh in every situation. I love how much you love me!!

Thank you

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
