I made a great choice when choosing the college I decided to attend. I had wanted to go to IU East ever since I graduated from high school, but was advised by my mother to go to a community college to save some money and get my prerequisites finished and out of the way first. It was a smart idea and choice, and I am very glad I did it that way.
After a year at Ivy Tech, I was able to apply to IU East and was accepted right away. When I first started it was a little scary to start at a University and get acquainted with the larger campus. However, after a couple of weeks of attending classes, I was just fine. After a month, it felt like I had been going there for a long time, and I fit right in.
I would definitely recommend IU East, which is located in Richmond, Indiana, to anyone considering a college to attend. All of the instructors are great. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The Den, which is the campus café, is an excellent place to eat lunch. The Chef who prepares the meals also teaches a cooking class on campus. The Brewfus is the place on campus to purchase coffee, smoothies, milkshakes, salads, and other things. I am really enjoying the campus lifestyle.
I am now in my second year at IU East, and every time I am there I just think how lucky I am. If you stop and think about it, they do a lot for their students. Every year back they throw us a Back to the Pack three day event and have booths that basically give us free stuff. They have a movie night. They throw us a GloZone Party and supply all the paint and the DJ. They find ways to give us free t-shirts. They provide a variety of organizations to join and classes we could take. They even provided us with a concert headlining SoMo and Daya, with the help of the radio station 101.3. It was not that expensive, and it was an amazing night and experience. They give us so so much!
