This Is When You Leave

When their heart no longer feels like home.

This Is When You Leave

This is when you leave.

When you realize he no longer listens to you or seems interested in your day.

This is when you leave.

When you notice she spends more time on her phone and seems less interested in having dinner with you.

This is when you leave.

When you feel so alone yet he’s asleep in arm’s reach.

This is when you leave.

When you’re having an argument and she no longer seems to care.

This is when you leave.

When your eyes are flooded with tears and his eyes are empty and cold.

This is when you leave.

When she starts to seem distant and her mind seems to be somewhere not with you.

This is when you leave.

When you notice his lies turn to truth and his truth turns to lies.

This is when you leave.

When she says, “I don’t care.” And you believe her.

This is when you leave.

When he begins to use material things and gifts against you.

This is when you leave.

When the sharp words that slide off her tongue hit your heart like a knife and she doesn’t even bat an eyelash.

This is when you leave.

When you notice he starts keeping his phone at a distance and gets defensive with questions.

This is when you leave.

When she no longer laughs at your jokes or finds your flaws appealing.

This is when you leave.

When he gets annoyed by the traits he used to claim to love.

This is when you leave.

When you realize she no longer holds your hand with a grip that begs you to stay.

This is when you leave.

When he no longer plays with your hair and rubs your back and does all the small things he used to do without you having to ask.

This is when you leave.

When she stops putting forth effort and you feel as if you’re the only one trying.

This is when you leave.

When he doesn’t respect you.

This is when you leave.

When goodbye doesn’t seem all that hard.

This is when you leave.

Sometimes giving up can seem like the easy way out. And sometimes all the fighting is worth it. But when you can feel the other person slipping away and you know their heart is no longer where it was at the start, you have to know when it’s time to let go. You have to know when to value your own worth and when to guard your heart.

Sometimes the heartbreak isn’t worth it. You have to know your deal breakers, whether that be infidelity, abuse, and sometimes simply being unhappy. Love is worth fighting for, but not if the love is no longer there. Know the difference between love and attachment. And always, always remember to put your own happiness first.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
