This is Rebecca. She is 18 and dyslexic.
In this interview I asked Rebecca to tell us about how she learned to read and write. I then ask her multiple questions regarding her dyslexia which she says would be measured as mild.
Her story might seem nicer than most. Because she was home schooled for most of her life, she was able to adapt to reading and writing with one on one teaching; a privilege that most people who have dyslexia don't get to experience. Which leads to a question I ask us to ponder; "Should children with learning disabilities have preferential or special treatment over the other 'average' learning children?"
I'll leave that for you to answer.
Finally, Rebecca has a message for anyone out there who also has this learning disability: don't give up.
Special thanks to Rebecca and all of you who took the time to watch!
