One Nation Under God

So we want to make America great again? Then we need to stop with the separation. It is so common for everyone to side with one side or another: Democrat or Republican and we get so caught up in an affiliation that we ignore the fact we are all one nation under god.

Who cares if your party affiliation won /lost, thats the way our country works and always has. The balance of power is always swaying from one side to the other, this keeps our country fresh and changing. No matter who wins or loses, either way it is a win for America. We are all one people, we can protest, we can hate, we can show violence, but nothing is going to change who the president elect is.

Its amazing to me how much people let the presidency get to them. Videos have surfaced on the internet of parents verbally abusing their little children over them supporting Trump in an elementary class. People take this politics game to a new level, taking out their hate and anger on the ones who love them the most. Politics should never affect our personal lives on matters such as this. Im sure the number of failed relationships is countless due to different sided political views. What a shame for one to lose the love of their life over a president they will never meet.

The elections divide our country, they cause protests, they cause hate and they do more damage than good. Is this the systems fault, is this the peoples fault, or is it both? Perhaps our government system isn’t the best and perhaps our candidates are not the best either, but if people aren’t happy why don't they run for themselves. Why don't we have more non politicians running for office? Why don't we have a blue collard individual in office? Why do we like to march the streets and complain instead of making real and lasting differences?

If we want change than we can do it ourselves. Run for office, volunteer to help those in need. We don't need a president to save us, because no president can. No president is going to come into your home and sweep you off your feet. We idolize these people like gods, but one can guarantee that there shit does stink.

Like I side before, the president is the president even if one doesn't recognize them as your president. We need to all find common ground and stop the controversy. We need to find a way for everyone to have their voice heard and work together on issues which matter to our country. We need to stop with the negativity a support a positive change for our country. We are one nation, we are one people and no one is really denying that. Grow some thicker skin, quit getting feelings hurt over what others well say and just move on with one’s life. We must show peace for their to be any peace.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
