Although this time of year can be extremely stressful to some, the holiday season should be one that is full of joy as well as relaxation.
As someone who just finished their fourth semester of college, I strive to make this time of year my time to unwind. I make sure I spend it with my family as well as my greatest friends.
This holiday season don't worry about every single little thing. The holidays should be about togetherness anyway, not material things and decorations.
This holiday season please get a chance to try and give back to the community. Whether you volunteer at a shelter or even just give a few dollars to a charity of your choice, you are giving back to the community in some way.
For some this holiday season cannot be about feeling the warmth you feel when you're with loved ones or stuffing yourself completely with your favorite holiday meals. For some, the holiday season is cold and miserable.
While you are at home snuggling in your living room with the fireplace on, there are so many people and families without homes this season.
'Tis the season to give back in my opinion. 'Tis the season to make those who would normally be uncomfortable in the dark and blistering weather feel a sense of warmth as so many of us do during this time of year.
Spread the joy that all of us tend to feel to others in need. Donate blankets, canned goods, presents, and toys. Offer to lend a hand in a homeless shelter. Do anything you can to make anyone in your community feel some sort of happiness because that is what this season is all about.
I hope you all have a happy holiday season.
