Consumed by everything, with our fingers glued to a lit up piece of plastic and glass, ignoring the beautiful world around, walking into things because our eyes are too focused on a box filled with words from people miles away about pointless events instead of the people in front of us and the events happening before our eyes.
We want it, and we want it now. We have absolutely no patience, or respect for that matter.
We’re smart. Oh my gosh, so incredibly smart. But the thing we lack is humbleness.
Our parents taught us to dream big, shoot for the stars and don’t let anyone stop us from reaching that final goal. What we didn’t understand is we don’t need to stomp on others to get there.
We over obsess with being better than one other when in reality we are greater with numbers. We hate group work, because we don’t like stepping out of our comfort zone, but we want to network with people so they’ll help us if we need them.
We treat others as a means to an end. Instead of keeping friendships that used to once mean something, we use people until we have no use of them any longer. Now isn’t that the saddest thing you’ve heard all day?
Older generations have damned us for the faults we have shown, but in actuality none of us are worried, because we know they fear us.
We are the creatives; the smart generation who has innovative mindsets of fixing the future and hopefully setting the way humanity works on a better path. Hopefully instead of creating the next great phone we will create cures for diseases, ends to wars; really I just want something that is truly amazing that will last forever instead of something that lasts until the next version comes out.
And hopefully while doing so we are humble, crediting those who have helped us along the way, and keeping in contact with people instead of throwing them away.
We have all forgotten that others have feelings and thoughts just as we do. We are so consumed with winning and being at the top that we do not realize that there is so much more to learn within the short years we are here. Will any of this really even matter once we are gone? The world needs a change and if we want to better it we have to start it, and being one of the greatest generations blessed with the technologies we have then we have to be the ones to alter it and not keep the toxic cycle going.
