29 Questions I Have For Our New President

I wanted him to prove me wrong, but so far, he has done the exact opposite.

Dear Mr. Trump,

When Emma Lazarus wrote the poem that would later serve as the inscription on the Statue of Liberty, she never imagined that her country’s own leader would try to undermine America’s core values -- "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” Today, thanks to you, I feel ashamed to be an American, but that doesn’t mean I want to leave. I have faith in the ACLU and the American people who are fighting the good fight. Honesty, tolerance, and decency will prevail, but until then, I have a couple of questions at the back of my mind that I've always wanted to ask you...

1. How’s Putin doing?

2. Why did you not wait for your wife to leave the car and walk up with you when greeting the Obamas? It looks like you were ignoring her for a good majority of your inauguration.

3. How do you still have access to your personal Twitter account?

4. Is your @realDonaldTrump account a Horcrux?

5. Do you actually think every media outlet except Breitbart is fake news?

6. How’s Trump University coming along for you?

7. Are you ever going to pay back those small businessmen you stiffed through your flawed methods of business?

8. Why aren’t you fully divesting your business ties and assets?

9. You know that alternative facts are actually lies, right?

10. In the 1980s, President Ronald Reagan sought to unite the world by tearing down walls. Why are you so hell-bent on building them?

11. Did you really have to break anti-nepotism laws just so that you could hire your son-in-law as a senior adviser?

12. Why do you want to 26,500 Americans to die because you want to repeal the Affordable Care Act?

13. How do some of your supporters not know that Obamacare and the ACA are the same exact thing?

14. Why do you want to tear families apart with your immigration measures when the Republican Party touts itself as “the party of family and marriage?”

15. Do you realize that the way you talk about your daughter Ivanka is actually really creepy?

16. Have you actually ever been in a locker room? No decent human being would ever talk about or act toward a woman the way you have.

17. Where again is the money for the wall coming from? Because Mexico sure as hell isn’t going to pay for it.

18. Do you realize that torture is not only un-American, but also ineffective?

19. Did you nominate Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education because she donated millions of dollars to the Republican Party?

20. How do you have so much disregard for the world that you can’t even admit that climate change is real?

21. How does it feel to be the most hated man in America right now?

22. Did you not think anything through when you signed that executive order suspending visas from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan?

23. Why do you fail to admit your executive order is a Muslim ban even though it seems pretty damn clear that you’re targeting Muslims?

24. Why do you want to crush students’ dreams for the sake of your bigotry?

25. Why does your Muslim ban exclude countries linked to your business empire, i.e. Saudi Arabia and Egypt?

26. If Jesus were alive today, would you turn him away because he was a refugee from the Middle East? Or, would you berate him by calling him a terrorist?

27. You see this picture?

This is Anne Frank. You know, the one who provided insight into the anti-Semitic horrors of WWII through her best-selling diary. The American government turned her and many other European-Jewish refugees away when they were trying to escape. Frank died, along with 1.1 million people, in Auschwitz. Do you realize that you’re about to do the same thing for Syrian refugees who are fighting the Islamic State and Asaad’s tyrannical regime?

28. Why did your administration fail to mention the pain and suffering of the Jews in its Holocaust Remembrance Day statement? Did Steve Bannon try to convince you that the Holocaust never happened?

29. How do you say “Make America Hate Again” in Russian?

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
