1. Love is important. It is the most valuable emotion in your life. Always love fully and selflessly and soon you will attract people who would do the same for you.

2. Look past the superficial and see people for who they really are. Keep the ones that make you happy, and cut out any unnecessary drama.

3. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone. Just be yourself.

4. Don't apologize for the way you feel. Your feelings are real and valid. Emotion is just another part of being a human being , and it doesn't make you weak to express that sometimes.

5. You can do anything you set your mind to. Literally, anything. The only thing holding you back is yourself.

6. Do things spontaneously, because the future is not guaranteed, but you can always take advantage of the here and now.

7. Don't stress about situations beyond your control. It will all be okay. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

8. You are beautiful. Nobody has the right to tell you otherwise. You bring something to the world that no one else can.

9. Embrace your gifts. Don't hide them.

10. You are significant. Even if you don't feel like it sometimes, everything you do affects other people’s lives. You have the power to make someone happy today.

11. Keep your heart open. Even after being hurt, you are not at fault for loving or caring about someone. It's not a weakness; it's strength to continue to love wholeheartedly despite what you have been through.

12. Ask yourself… “Will what I'm worried about right now matter in 10 years?” If not, it's probably not worth it.

13. Be happy in everything that you do. Find joy even in the things that you thought you would never enjoy.

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
