To the one who thinks there's got to be something more,
You're not wrong.
How can that be? We live in a world where almost anything is possible and it seems like there are endless products and services available to meet every need we ever have had, will have, or may never have. There are millions of different cars designed to fit unique personalities and preferences, there are places to live in the biggest and busiest cities all the way to the most quaint and remote countryside locations, there's food here from across the globe, and there's clothing that can satisfy just about anyone's style desires. Yet each day, billions of people wake up wanting more, wondering if their life is all that it will ever be. Maybe you think what you need is a new car or a new house. Maybe you think what you need will come from earning another degree or a finally finding your true love. You're not the only one feeling the way that you do.
C.S. Lewis said, "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world...Probably earthly treasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it...If that is so, I must take care, on the one hand, never to despise, or be unthankful for, these earthly blessings, and on the other, never to mistake them for the something else of which they are only a copy, or echo, or mirage. I must keep alive in myself the desire for my true country, which I shall never find till after death."
Don't spend your life trying to fill this desire with earthly things, my friends. You were designed to live eternally with your creator. Accepting Jesus as your savior and living your life for Him here on earth will reap eternal benefits. No matter how wonderful your life is here on earth, know that it is nothing compared to the beauty and splendor the Lord has in store for His children in heaven. When God created you, He wrote this desire on your heart and every human lives with this desire in their heart.
If you are a child of God, what do you do until the day you experience His glory and goodness in heaven? Let the anticipation of eternity drown out the distractions and temptations of the world each and every day.
