Do What Motivates You

Just because the day doesn't go as you wish doesn't mean you still can't have a great day and achieve what you said you wanted to the night before.

Do What Motivates You

Do you ever lay in bed and think about all the different things you want to achieve the next day? Of course you have! Because you're a human being!

Well, that was me last night. I laid there thinking about how I wanted to exercise (being very out-of-shape from my first year of college) and I want to start reading for fun again so I have to find a book and how I have to take some pants back and that I really want some new coffee and on and on and on.

Now that I'm actually up and out of bed and eating a bagel with cream cheese, strawberries, and cranberry juice at 9:45 a.m., some of my motivation has diminished. So, why are people always so motivated at night while laying in bed, but not the very next morning when we're actually energized to do stuff? I find it is because at night while we're thinking about the day we just had, we wish to be better the next day then the day we just had. This makes sense, but then why does the motivation go away? Well, just like the day before when you wanted motivation, but then the day actually happened. Days never go as we expect them to go that is why we are sometimes disappointed and sometimes happy about the day we had. When you're laying in bed thinking about what you wish to happen is totally different then what will actually happen due to natural causes. Natural causes such as the weather, other people, and your own health.

Just because the day doesn't go as you wish doesn't mean you still can't have a great day and achieve what you said you wanted to the night before. It's simple: Just GO DO IT. Get up and go do whatever it was you laid in bed thinking about. You may not feel motivated to do it, but as soon as you actually do, you will feel satisfied. This is because you already thought about doing it so when you achieve that goal the list in your brain can check off that you did it which will make you feel happy. Because who doesn't feel happy when they can check something off their list? I know I do.

With that being said, I am going to go exercise and check that off my mental list. Go do whatever it is that you want to achieve because you can do it and the motivation to do it is still there.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
