I've looked up to Oprah Winfrey for years now. In third grade, she was the person that I chose to research, dress up as, and present a biography on. She is smart, awe-inspiring, generous, and competent. I am white, so I have never had to face the same adversity that she has due to skin color. As a woman though, I have faced and will continue to face many of the adversities that she experienced due to gender inequality.

With the current political climate, woman have begun to feel further victimized by our leaders. Women, like Oprah, have begun to speak up.They have begun to take a stand and use their platforms to squash the injustice around us. There have been the Women's March and the Time's Up Movement, etc.

Oprah's speech at this year's Golden Globes has made many people wonder if she is going to run for President in 2020. At this point, I would take almost anyone over Donald Trump, but if it's Oprah... I will definitely be voting for her. Her speech was dedicated to giving voice to the women who have been taken advantage of. She continues to support us and everyone else. She continues to believe in a better United States of America. She continues to have hope even among all of this disgusting hatred.

However, if it came down to Oprah vs. Joe Biden. I am going to side with Biden. Reason number one, he has experience in politics, but not any just politics, he has experience within the White House. Also, I'm not confident that in our current climate a woman could beat out Trump. For some reason, there were still many people who refused to vote for Hillary, even though she was beyond qualified because she is a woman. I just hope that whoever becomes the nominee to take on Trump in 2020, has enough of a backing by the people AND the Electoral College to take Trump down!!!!

On a level of 1-10 with 1 being chill and 10 being stressed the flip out, you could say I'm a 9. Worrying about the future, grades, GPA, work, assignments, and a lack of sleep and food will do it to ya.
