Many people use the word ‘happiness’ to describe how they feel. But, is happiness really a feeling or is it an object? I personally define happiness as being content and comfortable in your surroundings/life. To different people, happiness can be a struggle to feel or define.
Finding the meaning of happiness is a journey, but once you start on the right path it is truly rewarding. Something very important to keep in mind is happiness can be found in many things. It does not need to be something extraordinary to make you happy; it can be found in the little things
Happiness is:
Spending time and laughing with your best friends
Talking to your crush
Reading your favorite book
Drinking your morning cup of coffee
Loving yourself
Loving others
Taking a visit to your favorite spot (mine is Citizen’s Bank Park)
Hiking and enjoying the view
Watching the Sunrise
Looking up at the stars
What does it exactly mean “to be happy”? For me, happiness is when you have so much joy and love that it makes you feel alive. In that moment nothing can touch you. Everyone has their own way of being or finding their own happiness although they have their challenges. Despite life’s roadblocks, everyone has their own pathway to happiness. But, I think once someone embraces their challenges and what they have gone through in life, they open up to new experiences or feel greater joys. Happiness rests inside each of our souls; we just need to find the courage to open ourselves up to new experiences or people to uncover that feeling. I also feel love has a role in eternal happiness. When you open your soul to love, you feel warm and at peace with yourself. In many, this evokes a feeling of happiness. This love does not have to be between a partner, it can be a love for a friend, brother, sister, or parent.
Happiness is one of the greatest feelings in the world. It makes you want to live, and embrace everything you do in your life and extend thanks to every person you have ever met. Go out and find your happiness! Life is too short to be anything but happy.
