The Cowspiracy is a 2014 documentary produced and directed by Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn. This eye-opening documentary unravels the reason why many environmental organizations are afraid to speak up about the sensitive topic of animal agriculture.

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution. Hence, shockingly responsible for more greenhouse gasses than the transportation industry. Animal agriculture is a primary driver of rain forest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean dead zones (low-oxygen areas in the ocean caused by nutrient deficiency), and virtually every other environmental illness. Yet it continues, almost entirely unchallenged.

Both shocking and humorous, this documentary involves the interactions with many environmental organizations such as Greenpeace and Sierra among the many others, who intentionally refuse to talk about animal agriculture in detail. This documentary also helps generate a plan to pave a path to sustainability for a growing population. One option is to rethink eating habits and preserve our planet.

I believe that the next step is to analyze this situation individually, coming up with one's own views and opinions on how to attack this issue. Interest leads to demand which in turn leads to mass production. What do you think? Do you want to continue in affecting the planet in a negative manner or do you want to make a positive impact.Ultimately the decision is left to the common man.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
