It doesn't matter what sport you play -- many athletes have the same thought process from day to day. Maybe you can't stop thinking about how great your bed is going to feel after a long day of hard work, or all the food you're going to eat after practice. Whatever it is you're thinking, you're not the only one.
1. Sweatpants are a wonderful thing.
When you're not in uniform, you're in sweats.
2. Maybe coach will cancel practice today.
Yeah, probably not. But somewhere deep down you believe a tiny miracle could happen.
3. I wonder how many calories I'm burning.
All of this hard work has to be doing something... right?
4. When will I have time to nap later?
As an athlete, naps become your best friend. Whether it's for five minutes or a half hour, napping at every opportunity is a must.
5. How am I hungry? I just ate.
We don't see it as our bodies burning hundreds and hundreds of calories a day -- we just see it as being constantly hungry.
6. That bruise is new.
Oh wait, and so is that one. You never know how you got them, but they're always there.
7. Is this clean?
Who knows? If it smells clean, then it is.
8. I hope coach is in a good mood today.
Everyone knows that coach's mood dictates how the day is going to go, and usually how much you'll run during practice.
9. Why am I so tired?
We ask ourselves this question as if we don't know the answer. Between five classes a day and two practices, it's surprising that we're even able to function on a daily basis.
10. I love my team.
Yes, they drive you absolutely crazy at times, but it's the best second family you'll ever have.
