For All The Single Girls On Valentine's Day Here Are 20 Things To Do For Yourself

Valentine’s Day is coming. Fast. For all those single people out there, it can be really tough. Seeing happy couples at every turn can be upsetting and disheartening, so taking some time for yourself is key.

Here are some ideas for the best things you can do if you’re feeling lonely this Valentine’s Day!

1. Take a bath.

Taking a bath is so relaxing and a great way to make yourself feel better when you’re sad and alone.

2. Eat some ice cream.

I’m pretty sure ice cream heals everything. It’s just a hunch.

3. Watch a rom-com.

Take some caution here, because you don’t want to make yourself more upset by watching people fall in love. You can always revert to just comedy.

4. Make cards for your friends.

Thinking of others is a great way to beat the blues! Your friends will love getting a note in the mail!

5. Call another single friend.

You will be much less lonely if you’re talking to a friend. Give them a call! You will both be better off for it!

6. Snuggle with your dog.

Cuddling your dog will always make you feel better!

7. Buy yourself flowers.

Flowers really brighten any room and buying them for you means you can get the exact kind and color you want!

8. Take yourself out for a nice dinner.

Get dressed up. Go to your favorite place. Who cares if you’re alone?

9. Or go out to dinner with your single friends.

If you feel too uncomfortable going out alone, round up your single friends and go out together!

10. Watch a new movie on Netflix.

Movies get added to Netflix all the time. Try watching something you’ve never seen, or maybe try a genre you wouldn’t normally watch!

11. Learn how to cook something new.

With all this time on your hands, you’ve got plenty of time to learn a new skill, craft, or game!

12. Take yourself shopping.

You deserve it.

13. Buy yourself discounted candy (after Valentine’s day of course!)

Since you won’t be receiving candy from anyone else this year, buy some for yourself! But be sure to wait a couple days to the candy on discount!

14. Go hiking.

Fresh air does wonders for a bad mood. Get outside and breathe in the fresh air and sunshine.

15. Take a well-deserved nap.

You probably don’t get enough sleep. Take a nap. Catch up on that beauty sleep.

16. Paint your nails.

Pick a new color. Go crazy!

17. Go to a museum.

Museums are amazing places to spend an afternoon! Take yourself out for the day and wander around a museum.

18. Read a book.

Just don’t read a romance novel.

19. Do some journaling.

Taking some time to reflect on your life and experiences is a great way to spend your time.

20. Write yourself a love letter.

When you are feeling unloved, take some time to recognize all the amazing things that make you special! You are amazing and so, so loved!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
