If you’re like me, then you’re spending your summer inside at work or at an internship, and you barely have any time to spend time with friends or have an exciting summer. Summer is a great time to make a lot of money because you finally have time to work a lot, without classes and other commitments, but sometimes it gets in the way of having a fun summer.

Here are a few things you know if you work nonstop over the summer.

1. You barely get any sleep.

Most of your friends get to sleep in, but you’re up at 6 a.m. going to your job. So much for catching up on sleep from all the sleep you lost throughout the school year. What’s also difficult is that during the weekends all you want to do is sleep, but that’s also your only free time to hang out with friends. You find yourself in bed most nights at 9 p.m. and feeling like a grandma.

2. You’re as pale as a vampire.

While everyone else is spending time at the beach getting tan, you’re stuck inside getting even paler than you already are. While you might be tempted to try and keep up with your tan friends by getting a spray tan, word of advice, do not go swimming the next day because the entire tan will wash off in the pool. When you can, try and soak up the sun, even if it means sitting in a lawn chair while you're working.

3. You dread getting on social media.

When you’re finally off work, you debate getting on social media, but then it just makes you feel lame. You see pictures of your friends on beaches, with tropical drinks in their hand, in different countries, going on hikes, while the most exciting thing you’re doing is drinking a bottle of wine after your 12-hour work day.

4. You don’t get to see your friends much.

Even though you always promise to keep in touch with friends over the summer, it’s hard to. You get into your daily routine and sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. You wish weekends could be spent going on adventures with friends, when in reality, you spend them catching up on laundry and getting groceries for the next week.

5. Your paycheck almost makes it all worth it.

The only good thing about working nonstop is the money. I remember my first paycheck this summer, and I immediately filled up my gas tank and bought myself lunch. It’s the most wonderful feeling in the world looking at your online bank account and not cringing at the amount. It feels good to be able to take your friends out to lunch once in a while or afford that dress you’ve had your eye on for so long.

While working nonstop all summer might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but it allows you to be able to save up for even more exciting adventures in the future.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
