10 Things You Understand If You Live On Campus

Welcome to college! You have been waiting your whole life for this very moment. The friends your going to make and the classes you are going to take... but academics and social life are not the only two things you have to think about in college. The 10ft by 10ft cinder block room you are going to live in will play a big part in your experience too. Living in a dorm is a lot of fun but it has some downsides as well.

1. The walls are paper thin so you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing.

2. You have become immune to the many gross smells in the hallways.

3. The laundry room is cutthroat. It is a competition to get a machine and if you get there a minute after the timer goes off, your wet clothes are out of the washer and laying on the table.

4. The loudest people seem to live in the room right above you.

5. You often see people sleeping in unconventional places.

6. Finding hair in the shower that is definitely not yours.

7. You know how to dress up your tiny space with posters and string lights to make it less jail-like.

8. The room temperatures are as unstable as your bank account. One night you are bundled up in sweats and a blanket, the next you are forced to sleep naked.

9. Finally getting a good parking spot, but knowing when you leave and come back it won't be there.

10. You would not trade those late-night conversations and shenanigans for anything in the world.
