If you're like me, your mom is your best friend and without her, your world would crumble whether you want to admit it or not. Being away at college can be a tough adjustment when your hundreds of miles away from your family, especially if it's your first time being away from them. Parents and siblings become strangers all too quickly when you're at school. You become so wrapped up in your own schedule and commitments that before you know it, it's been two weeks since you've last spoken. Your family knows next to nothing about your academics or social life, and you certainly have no idea what's going on in theirs, but they'll always be there for you whenever you need them — especially moms. You'll always be her baby, and though she may get on your nerves here and there, you owe your mom your life. So, here are a few things you should thank your mom for right now:

1. Letting you call when you're stressed out and/or crying.

2. Reading over and revising all your essays and assignments.

3. Sending you care packages.

4. Giving you amazing advice and perspective on your life.

5. Paying the bills (or at least some of them).

6. Supporting all of your ambitions.

7. Letting you know when you're way out of line.

8. Doing everything in her power to make sure you have what you need.

9. Putting your needs before her own.

10. Trusting you to be on your own while you're at school.

11. Loving you unconditionally, always.
