With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we are all feeling extra sentimental. Thinking of flowers, and teddy bears and cute heart-shaped boxes of candy, it is easy to forget the real reason of why we are celebrating Valentine’s Day. It's not an excuse to eat chocolates, but to remind our sweetheart why we love them. So here are 11 things to keep in mind to thank your special someone for this V-day.

1. Letting me steal your clothes.

I have probably half of your favorite t-shirts, and maybe a quarter of your hoodies, and 80 percent of your closet. But I appreciate that I can wear my extra big t-shirt on my lazy days.

2. Eating your food

Yep. You know exactly what I'm talking about. When I tell you that I'm “not hungry” but still manage to eat most of your fries. Oh, and letting me have half of your food when I don’t really like mine.

3. Picking where we eat

“I don’t care we eat… can you just decide?” Thank you for always making the end decision of where we are going to eat. What can I say? It's just too much of a responsibility for me to decide.

4. Watching girly movies

Thank you for sitting through watching "The Bachelor," chick-flicks and any cooking show I choose to watch. I know you would much rather be watching some show about cars or war or something.

5. Being patient

Whether it is me taking too long to get ready or just simply asking you what shirt you like better or if I look cute, thanks for pretending that you're not annoyed.

6. Snuggling

I know a face full of hair and a numb arm isn’t always ideal, but thanks for doing it anyways.

7. Letting me cry

Sometimes a girl's just gotta cry, and you are always there to make fun of me crying or cheer me up in some sort of way.

8. Always driving

To my event, to dinner, to go out, you name it and you always drive, without a question. I am so thankful for that because let'sbe honest -- if I drove, we both would probably be dead.

9. Making me food

Mainly after we go out, and I'm just sitting there like a lost puppy. You go and make me a late-night snack to make sure I don’t “starve.”

10. Supporting me

In serious matters or not, I know you will always have my back. You push me to be the best I can and never tell me any idea is too crazy. Especially when I call in the middle of the day to tell you I want to be a florist or become an astronaut.

11. Making me happy

At the end of the day, this is the best part of being yours. You love me unconditionally (even when I’m being a brat, and being stubborn), and try to make me happy no matter what is going on.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
