Moms. They can be your biggest nag, #1 fan, greatest enemy, and best friend all in one. As we grow up, we realize our parents are more human and relatable, and sometimes we even recognize that they might be cool. That being said, here are some of the tell-tale signs you have a cool mom relationship, right Regina?!

1. Answer my text/Snapchat

A tell-tale sign of a cool mom is her activity on social media. If your mom is constantly posting on Instagram, Facebook, and snapchat - it's safe to say she's somewhat of a social queen. That being said, it's THE MOST frustrating thing when you snapchat or text your mom and she leaves you on read. What's more important than me, after all?!

2. Can I borrow your...

Having a cool mom means they most likely also have a cool wardrobe. This results in a lot of clothing swapping. Need a cute sweater? Mom's closet is my favorite store for that! (Although it might be better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission...)

3. Did you hear about...

Since having a cool mom means she's probably also your best friend, she's almost always updated on the most current gossip. Whether that be in your friend group, town, or the latest Hollywood celeb gossip, talking to your mom about the latest buzz is SO fun. This means you're quick to ask her opinions on the latest news!

4. My friends miss you

When you have a cool mom, she's usually an honorary part of your friend group. After the countless hours spent hanging out around your cool mom, your friends go through withdrawals when they're away at college. This results in a constant stream of, 'how's your mom?' and 'i miss your mom,' and of course you have to tell her your friends always say hi.

5. I Love You

Having a cool mom also means you have a cool best friend. I feel so lucky to have a mom that doubles as a best friend, and what better way to show your appreciation than to tell her you love her!

So thanks, mom, for being the coolest (in your own way, of course!)

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
