Living together through it all, you'll never be as close to anyone as your college roommate. Whether it's a wild night out, a late-night study session, or a Netflix and ice cream binge, the two of you are pretty much inseparable. Your roommate becomes your go-to for just about everything-- surprising you with your favorite snacks, telling you when it's time to shut off the tv and be productive, and, of course, picking you up when she knows you need it most. So when you head home all alone for winter break, it can be hard to readjust to life without your person just a few feet away. Here's some of the things you'll miss most about your roommate this break...

1. The Pep Talks

Your roommate knows it's best to be brutally honest. You'll miss her daily encouragement to go to the gym, to class, the library, and everything in between.

2. Cooking Together

Part of the fun of living together is being able to cook fun meals. Making your own lunch at home is just not the same.

3. Their Closet

Arguably the best thing about living with a roommate is having double the clothes! You'd be lying if you said you didn't wish you had that one top of hers this break.

4. Surprising You With Your Favorite Things

With your roommate always looking out for you, she tends to pick up your favorites while at the store. There's nothing like coming home after a long day of class to a Coke Zero already waiting for you in the fridge!

5. The No Judgment Zone

No matter how stupid it may be, your roomie is always there to listen and offer advice. You'll miss always being able to show her your outfit, vent about your day, and ask her to edit the text you're writing.

6. The Little Things

When you're living with someone in such small quarters, the smallest things really do make the biggest difference. It won't be the same without watching tv together, having her straighten that piece of hair you can't reach, talking about your days, and all your inside jokes too.

7. Your Partner In Crime

She's the first face you see every morning, and the last face you see every night. You'll miss life with your roomie and be counting down the days until the two of you are back!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
