It seems as if it was just yesterday that I was unloading my stuff from my parent's car and moving it into my barren dorm room. Eight months later, and I'm packing up my stuff to return home. However, I'm not just returning with the things I brought, but I'm leaving with a lifetime of lessons and memories.
1. The friends you start freshman year with may not be the friends you end freshman year with.
2. You will always have your friends back home, though, even if you don't talk as frequently as you would like.
3. You will not use your meal plan nearly as much as you think you will.
4. The freshman 15 is a very real thing.
5. Home-cooked meals are not to be taken for granted.
6. No matter how excited you are to be on your own, you will get homesick.
7. Eating by yourself does not make you a loser.
8. Staying in on a Saturday night is totally acceptable.
9. No one has their life figured out, and anyone who says they do is lying.
10. You learn how many shots you can take before puking (this number will rise through the year).
11. It’s not a good idea to mix seven different types of alcohol in one hour.
12. You're here to learn; it’s OK to ask for help.
13. The only thing worse than an 8 a.m. is a Friday 8 a.m.
14. Professors aren’t out to get you.
15. Finals are the worst time of your life.
16. Registration is the second worst time of your life.
17. Whoever created ratemyprofessors.com deserves an award.
18. The library is a better place to study than your dorm.
19. Forming study groups will set you up for success academically and socially.
20. It's OK to befriend the 30 year old student in your class.
21. Gym time is precious time.
22. You will make mistakes.
23. You will have regrets.
24. Time flies.
