Brick, New Jersey is a medium sized, middle-class town, home to many growing families, and it's located in Central Jersey. This town is filled with all different types of people. It's the type of town that everyone says they can't wait to leave, but always wind up coming back to. Brick is a town located near the shore, and it is home to a bunch of beautiful beaches, so it attracts people from all over the place. Contrary from what locals would say, Brick has tons of things to do for fun. For example, you could go to the movies, enjoy a sunny day at Windward park, or go to the next town over and have fun at the Point Pleasant boardwalk. This town is full of opportunities and fun things to do if you really look. Kids who grew up in Brick, NJ experienced basically all of the same things and did the same things for fun. There is only so much to do in Brick when you don't have your license, but we still had fun. Kids who grew up in this town hate to love it, even though they have made so many amazing memories here. If you grew up or have lived in Brick as a teenager, you can definitely related to most of these things:

1. You used to know Brick as the safest town in the country, but according to the news articles on the internet, it has seemed to change quite a bit.

2. As a kid in middle school you used to hang out at the 'fields', or walk around Brick Plaza for hours after seeing a movie. You also probably got bored and walked into Bon Ton and A&P.

3. You took the beach bus to Brick beach before you got your license, and had to walk all the way from Brick 1 to Brick 3 every morning.

4.You either went to Old Brick, or Brick Memorial, and you know how intense the rivalry is, especially when it comes to football or hockey. And you know students and alum will always fight over it, doesn't matter if you are still in school or graduated 4 years ago.

5. Football games were wild, and you took the theme of the night (either camo-nation, black out, or white out) very seriously.

6. Applebee's was the place to be Friday nights with all of your friends if there was nothing else to do.

7. Living in Brick in the summer is absolutely horrible.

8. All of the main roads are clogged with BENNIES and it would take forever to get anywhere around Brick.

9. You probably live at least two seconds away from a Wawa no matter where in Brick you are.

10. You probably grew up saying how much you can't wait to get out of this town, even though it holds so many memories. And you will definitely miss it once you go away for college.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
