Whether you are involved in lent or not, it is not healthy to feel dependent on anything to keep going or be your best self. If you agree that you would like to make a temporary or permanent change in your life, the following list serves as an inspirational guide to doing so.
-Caffeine. Before you gawk followed by spoonfuls of tears, you don't need it. In fact, sources say water can give you just as much, if not more energy than caffeine if you drink enough.
-Going out to eat. Yes, going out to eat can be fun, but cooking at home can save you a lot of money and grease, and teach you a few extra recipes along the way.
-An app on your phone (preferably social media). I am addicted to my phone, I will admit, and chances are, you are too. It's so silly to be wrapped up in outgoing words and photoshopped pictures, which is why you do not need to always be participating.
-Getting your nails done. This is not a punishment, but sometimes your nails like to breathe and with the 50 bottles of old school nail polish you most likely have at home, they'll spare you some money too.
-Procrastination. Though this habit is very contagious, it is one that needs to be broken. Whether an agenda will solve your problems or extra alarms throughout the day, you can do it.
-Online shopping. Whether you actually buy too many things or add several items to your wish list, obese spending can also be unhealthy. Out of sight out of mind really works both ways here.
-Milk chocolate. I say milk and not all chocolate because dark chocolate can be good for you. If above 80% cacao, a square or small bit of chocolate a day can have more benefits than you think.
-Negativity. You can't really give up people or the opportunities that come with them, but you can separate yourself from the negative energies related. If you make an effort to turn any situation positive, some serious changes will follow.
May the lack of something bring you so much more.
