Things I What To Tell My Future Little

Dear Little,

I want to start by telling you how much I already love you. I have been planning for you for over a year. Since the moment I got my big, I've been looking forward to meeting you. I can't wait until big little reveal so we can start our big little adventure together!

I want you to know that I will always be here for you. I don't care how many times I tell you how busy or stressed out I am. If you need something, I will drop everything to be there for you. I want you to never doubt that.

I never want you to be afraid to ask for help.

I want you to know that you are still so young. I know you feel invincible right now but one day you won't. I will be by your side when it does. I never want you to get hurt, but I can't stop life.

I want you to know that I am going to randomly text you at 2 in the morning because I can.

You don't have to know your future right now. You have four years to figure out what you want your future to look like. I want you to enjoy the time you have in college. Don't rush through it.

I want you to know you don't need a boyfriend to complete you. You are and will always be enough. You are a leading woman.

I want you to know I will probably like all your Instagram pictures because you are adorable.

I want you to know I plan on spoiling you.

I want you to feel free to tell me if I ever step over the line. I am going to be extremely protective of you because you're my little and I love you.

I want you to know I will be here for every boy that breaks your heart, and I will hate him more then you ever will. I will forbid you from talking to guys I know are bad for you even though you'll probably ignore me.

I want you to know that no matter what happens I will always be in your life. I'll be there no matter how far away you are.

I want you to know you are going to have the most supportive theta family you could ever dream of.

I want you to never doubt your value.

I want you to know that I hurt when you hurt. The idea of anyone trying to hurt you makes me angry just thinking about it.

I want you to know that I will never judge you for the choices you make. I don't want you to ever be afraid to tell me things. I want you to know that I will never think less of you. Just because I don't agree with something that you do doesn't mean I don't love you.

I want you to know that it is okay if we don't hang out all of the time. You will meet other people and that is okay.

I want you to know that even though I don't know who you are right now I wanted you.

I want you to never doubt that I wanted YOU as my little.

Your Big

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
