As a child, I didn't appreciate my circumstances. Now, looking back, I want to just be a child again. I long for the lack of responsibilities. I just wanted to be all grown up back then, but never did I think about how hard it was going to be, being a "grown up." In my longing for simpler times, I decided to compile a list of things that I took for granted as a child.
1. Naps.
Why fight this precious gift!?
2. After-school snacks and television.
Grab a juice box and a Little Debbie's snack cake, and watch some "Spongebob" or "Suite Life of Zack and Cody."
3. A lack of responsibilities.
The only responsibility at that time was making sure I had my homework done and all of my Accelerated Reader point requirements met.
4. Recess.
Oh, how I long for a 15 to 20-minute break during the day.
5. Reading for leisure.
I can't remember the last book that I actually read for "fun."
7. Being bored.
When looking back at my Facebook memories, I find that I was perpetually bored. Now, I almost long for boredom!
