There's lots of uncertainty in the world. We wake up in the morning, having no idea how our day will play out. No idea if it will be a bad day, an "eh" day, an "OK" day, or a great day. However, there are many things that are guaranteed to make your day better--no matter what kind of day it is.

1. A warm bed on a cold morning/night.

There's nothing more heavenly, no better combination. Being wrapped up with toasty blankets and pillows with a hot cup of coffee and some Netflix has a way of making everything okay.

2. Babies.

From their little smiles, to the little sounds they make, babies will make you smile, every time. The way they wrap their tiny hands around your one finger is seriously heartwarming.

3. Puppies.

Like babies, puppers are another infallible way to turn your day around. They're always happy, they love you unconditionally, and they're always excited to see you. I mean come on, look at these cuties!

4. A good hair, makeup or outfit day.

When you look good, you feel good. If you're anything like me, you've had one of those days when your makeup came out bad or your hair sucks and you feel super upset. Your day is ruined before it even starts! But when you get a compliment on your makeup, or you put on your favorite outfit, it boosts your whole mood!

5. Listening to old songs.

I'm talking early 2000s throwbacks. If I'm ever sad, or need a pick-me-up, I'll listen to my Spotify playlist of middle school jams. As soon as a song comes on, you start singing all of the lyrics you didn't even know you remembered. Old songs also have a way of transporting you back to a certain time or memory in your life.

6. Reading a book.

There's no better escape from stress in your world than jumping into a new one! No one likes being told what to read in school, but reading a book for pleasure is totally different! Find one that you like, or if you don't know what you like, go for a classic.

7. Watch stand-up comedy.

If you have Netflix, you may or may not know about all of the hilarious comedy shows they have on it! Some of my favorites are Jim Gaffigan and Bo Burnham. You will be cracking up the whole time, trust me!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
