Fall has a way of taking our breath away and reminding us of how amazing the world around us is. It is also a time for letting go. As the autumn leaves let go of the trees and fall, it is a great time for us to let go of a few things in our lives as well. It is a chance to let go and grow with the seasons ahead.

1. Let go of a bad habit.

Whether it is as simple as filling up your gas tank before it hits empty or binging on Netflix the night before a test, letting go of a bad habit never hurts!

2. Let go of that one piece of clothing.

We all have it. That one shirt or a pair of pants covered in Taco Bell stains and love, letting go is going to be hard, but now is the time my friend.

3. Let go of that ex.

They are not worth it. You keep going back and all you get in return is more heartbreak. Let them go and open you up to a new year and new possibilities. You deserve it.

4. Let go of shoes.

It seems silly, but we all have a pair, or fifteen, like this. Donate them! They have only been worn once or twice and are just sitting there.

5. Let go of toxic people.

This one is hard, but until you let them go you do not realize how much they were poisoning you. Sometimes you have to let go of the things you once loved dearly.

6. Let go of that anxiety.

Whether it is over tests and sitting alone in the cafeteria, let it go. It is easier said than done, but letting go of even one of the things that worries you the most is incredibly freeing.

7. Let go of the need to control.

Another hard one, but we cannot control everything in our lives, much to my chagrin. Sometimes you have let go and learn to roll with the punches.

8. Let go of the contents of your fridge.

A simple one, but something that so many people need to do! Cleaning out your fridge not only makes room for all of the holiday leftovers but also allows you to take control of an aspect of your life in a healthy way!

9. Let go of the anger.

Whether it is the guy who cut you off in traffic or the best friend who changed a painful way, let it go. The anger and hurt you are holding onto is only making you feel worse

Let it go. Whether it is one thing on this list or all of them, just do it. Like the leaves falling from the trees, it is time to let go. and open yourself up to the beauty and new beginnings of the future.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
