Many colleges around the country offer some sort of Greek organizations on their campuses. Students often get involved in fraternities and sororities as a way to get to know other people. However, before joining a sorority there are some things you should be prepared for before getting involved in one.
1. Spending money.
Dues need to be paid, t-shirts have to be ordered, and it is possible that you will be asked to give donations to certain philanthropies and causes.
2. Making a bunch of new friends.
If you are not the most social person, I recommend joining Greek life. It is an easy way to gain new friends while participating in fun activities on and off campus.
3. Volunteer work is a must.
Both sororities and fraternities often require a minimum amount of volunteer hours that must be required each semester. If they are not done, you could be put on probation. This should not be a problem though because the organizations usually offer multiple service opportunities as well as free transportation to the locations.
