Some things that are necessary for a weekend of camping

Why I Love Camping

Ever since I was little, I have gone camping every summer, and since I went this weekend, I figured I would try to explain why I love camping.

1. Swimming

On top of loving swimming in general, when you are camping, you get to go swimming day in and day out.

2. Canoeing

Okay, so you could also go kayaking, paddle boarding, among a million other things, but canoeing is my favorite.

3. Playing card games

Card games are always a fun thing to do when you have a lot of down time. You might want to bring some board games too.

4. Reading

Camping gives me a perfect amount of down time to finish a book.

5. Playing frisbee/soccer/volleyball

Camping always has good areas to play a pick up game of your favorite sport.

6. Hiking

Near any good camp grounds are good trails. Day hikes are a great way to spend your day.

7. Biking

To go with those good hiking trails are also usually good bike paths.

8. Running

Camping is a great time to go for a run. You don't have an excuse with all the free time you have when you camp. Plus, there's usually tons of shade, so you can't use the excuse of the heat either.

9. Watch the sunrise

Camping is the only time when I can get up early enough to watch the sunrise.

10. Look for shooting stars

So this is what me and my mom would always do when I was little. Camping is the perfect time to lie on your back and watch the stars.

11. Make s'mores

Sit by the fire and get warm while also enjoying one of the best deserts of all time.

12. Take naps

Especially if it rains, camping is the perfect time to hide in your tent for a few hours and doze off.

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
