This week at Murray State University there has been a snowpocalypse. Classes have been cancelled every day this week, so my friends and I have had to come up with things to do each day to not go crazy with boredom. Here are some things to do on snow days with your friends.

1. Make hot chocolate

Yes, this is super simple but great when it is like five degrees outside.

2. Movie nights

My friends and I do this anytime really but it is fun to watch movies in the lobby and meet new people.

3. Midnight sledding

This is usually a spur of the moment kind of adventure. All you need is some warm clothes and something that is plastic that is flat or box shaped that a person can fit in. Next, find any hill and have a blast!

4. Play Monopoly

Everyone has played Monopoly, but most people have not actually finished a game. Taking the time to play the whole games is super fun and is an easy way to get through about four hours of the day.

5. Painting bricks/rocks

My residential college put on this program and it was genius. They had a bunch of bricks for a brick garden and just let people come and paint them. Not only can you do this with your friends, but you could use them as door stops or even gift them to people.

6. Spa day

What better way to have a relaxing day than doing some face masks, painting your nails, and binge watching your favorite Netflix show?

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
