Things To Do To Make Self-Quarantine A Little Less Boring

Being stuck at home can get boring pretty fast, so here are some suggestions for how to keep busy in your home!

Things To Do To Make Self-Quarantine A Little Less Boring

Almost everyone right now is dealing with the process of self-quarantine, where people are instructed to stay home and avoid areas where contact with others could occur. This is all in an effort to prevent the spread of viruses, specifically the fast-spreading pandemic COVID-19. Personally, I have found that this free time at home could be more interesting than people are realizing.

1. Pick Up a New Hobby

Sometimes you never know you're good at something until you try. You can pick up painting, drawing, or writing, for example. I looked up some YouTube videos on how to draw faces and now I've gotten into portraits.

2. At-Home Work Outs

The public gym may be closed, but there are a lot of work out exercises that can be done right in your living room.

3. Discovering New Movies/Shows on Netflix

With a lot of free time comes a lot of chances to see movies you never even knew existed.

4. Actually Studying

This may not be the most fun thing to do, but with a lot of free time, catching up on schoolwork or studying for upcoming exams is making good use of time.

5. Finishing Things You Started But Never Finished

Sometimes, when life becomes really busy we start certain projects that we never get to finish, like organizing closets or your room for example.

Don't forget to stay safe! I hope these tips helped make the everyday quarantine go by a little faster and a little more enjoyable.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
