While most people go to Florida and spend their time relaxing on the beach and getting a golden tan, there are still ways to relax without breaking the bank.

1. Catch up with old friends

It can be hard to talk to your friends every day when you are away at college, but if you're lucky enough to have aligning spring breaks, you can meet up at a coffee shop or even at someone's house to keep each other updated on your lives.

2. Learn a new skill

Whether it is learning to cook a new dish, knitting a sweater, or perfecting your dance skills, spring break is a perfect opportunity to learn something you didn't have time for during the semester.

3. Go to the gym

It is never too early to start working on your beach bod! Hit the gym alone or with some friends to get your heart pumping and relieve some of that pent up stress from midterms.

4. Play with your dog

Your dog misses you when you're away at school! Show them some love by taking them for a walk, playing fetch, or just snuggling together on the couch.

5. Hang out with your family

Your family misses you too, make sure to carve out some time to take your younger siblings out to do something fun or grab dinner with your parents.

6. Go on a local vacation

There are so many cool places around you that you don't even know about, so act like a tourist in your own city. Check out a restaurant you've never been to, go hiking through the local park, or take a short road trip up to a local beach and get your own summer glow!
