5 Things To Do On A Rainy Summer Day

In This Article:

Recently it has been raining like crazy where I live, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop for the next week. As unfortunate as that is during the summer, when all I really want to do be outside in the sun, I've found there are also a lot of things to do when stuck inside all day. Here's the list I compiled, from my recent experience.

1. Binge a new series, or catch up on an old one

Giphy

Being stuck inside all day is a perfect time to binge that Netflix show you've been meaning to start, but haven't had the time. Grab some popcorn, curl up on your couch, and get to binging!

2. Watch your friend or family member's favorite movie with them

Giphy

A fun thing to do is watch a friend or family member's favorite movie, especially if you've never seen it before. Chances are, you'll find a new favorite movie, and have some time to bond with someone close to you.

3. Declutter your house

Giphy

You've probably been meaning to clean out your room, or declutter your closet, but always had other things to do. Now that you're stuck inside, it's the perfect time to just get in there and clean everything out. Trust me, you'll feel much better once you do.

4. Read a book, even if you haven't read in a while

Giphy

Even if you're like me, and don't read as much as you should, it's surprisingly fun to pick up a good book and just get lost in it for a few hours. Now that you have the time, you have your chance!

5. Try cooking or baking a new recipe

Giphy

Try making a new recipe, even if you don't cook much. It could be fun to make something even if it doesn't turn out amazing. You can even get your friends or family members to help you out!

Hopefully, this list can help you make your rainy day at least a little more fun!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
